Cedar Hollow Families,

With the busy season upon us and so many fun activities happening at school, our news is coming your way a day early this week. We’ve had an incredible few days at Cedar Hollow and are already looking ahead to a well-deserved winter break. Here are a few highlights from the week!

🏀 Unified Basketball Event

On Tuesday, we proudly hosted our first-ever Unified Basketball Event! This special event was designed to promote inclusion and build community within our school. It truly reflected our district’s mission to “accept all students unconditionally and maximize their potential.”

After months of preparation during adaptive PE class, students took part in a fun and engaging basketball game. Cedar Hollow students cheered one another on and showed incredible support for the athletes. It was a meaningful and memorable experience for everyone involved!

🎶 Choir Field Trip

Today, our 4th and 5th-grade Cedar Hollow Choir helped spread some holiday cheer! Students visited a couple of local nursing homes to sing for residents, bringing smiles and joy throughout the morning.

When they returned to school, they continued the fun by hosting a special lunchtime sing-along for our Kindergarten, 1st, and 3rd graders. A big thank-you to Mrs. Smith for organizing such a wonderful experience for our students and community.

🍽️ Fun Lunch (Hollow Hustle Reward)

Today, we also celebrated one of our Hollow Hustle rewards with a fun lunch experience for students.

During the first lunch, students were treated to holiday songs performed by the Cedar Hollow Choir, helping everyone get into the festive spirit with Christmas carols they’ve been practicing.

At the second lunch, we played a special holiday edition of “Masked Singer.” Teacher volunteers sang a line from a Christmas song while students tried to guess who was singing. It was full of laughter and fun and was truly a highlight of the day!

🎄 Friday Plans

On Friday, staff members will take part in a fun school-wide assembly featuring Holiday-themed Minute-to-Win-It games. Students will get the chance to cheer on their teachers and enjoy a lighthearted celebration together.

Classrooms will also host fun celebrations and activities to wrap up a great first semester.

❄️ Happy Holidays

As we head into winter break, I want to wish all of our Cedar Hollow families a very happy holiday season. I hope you enjoy this special time with family and loved ones.

Thank you for being such a supportive and caring school community. I am truly grateful for each of you and look forward to a wonderful second semester together. We can’t wait to welcome students back on Monday, January 5th!

Warm holiday wishes,
Mr. Runyon
