Happy New Year, Cedar Hollow Families!

We were excited to welcome students back after winter break and enjoyed a great full week together. Our time was spent jumping back into academics while also revisiting school rules and expectations to help set everyone up for success in the new year.

Report cards have recently been posted. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher. Conferences are right around the corner and will be held on February 10 and 11—a wonderful opportunity to hear more about all the great things your child is doing at school.

The weather has been on our side lately, but as temperatures begin to drop, please remember to send your child dressed in layers. The playground can feel especially chilly since there isn’t much to block the wind.

Highlights from the Week:

  • Expectation Stations:

    • As we returned from a long break, the students participate in "Expectation Stations" on Tuesday. Classes rotated to different areas of the school to review our GPS expectations to Give Kindness, Practice Accountability, and Stay Safe. I am so proud of the students for all of their hard work!

  • Cedar Circles

    • On Friday, our Cedar Circles groups met. This month's character trait is Perseverance. We talked with students about never giving up and the power of YET. It is okay to not be able to do something right away, but always knowing we can achieve our goals. I can't do this......YET!

  • Guardian Glow

    • We gave out two more Guardian Glow Awards to classrooms today. The Guardian Glow award recognizes a class who is going above and beyond to Give Kindness, Practice Accountability, and Stay Safe. Teachers are not able to nominate their own class, nominations come in from other staff members recognizing their hard work! Mrs. Cook's class and Mrs. McMahon's class were our latest recipients.

Attendance Matters:

The new year and semester are the perfect opportunity to reset and build positive habits, especially when it comes to school attendance. Regular attendance opens the door to learning, friendships, and opportunities that can make a big difference in your student's success.
